Blemished Instruments
These instruments have minor cosmetic blemishes that will not effect the playability of the instrument. In most cases, you would expect to collect minor blemishes like these after playing your instrument for a few months! Our blemished instruments receive the full Shar set up and inspection, and are otherwise identical to cosmetically perfect instruments. They carry our full return privileges, warranties and trade-in credit towards future purchases from Shar. Please note: Due to the nature of electronic equipment, we cannot accept electric instruments for trade-in.
Trade-In Instruments
These instruments have been returned by players trading up to another instrument. All go through a full inspection, restoration, and tonal adjustment. Only instruments that are in very good to excellent condition are offered for sale to ensure your complete satisfaction, and wear is only cosmetic and has no effect on performance. They carry our full return privileges, warranties and trade-in credit towards future purchases from Shar.

Purchasing a higher level string instrument is not the same as buying a car or a computer. Even with excellent maintenance over time, a car or computer would have a high depreciation value, while a stringed instrument would hardly have any. One of the main reasons for this is that instruments themselves do not depreciate, while the materials used to make them can actually improve with use. Many teachers recommend their students to purchase second-hand instruments for their fuller, rounder, more-developed sounds. At Shar, we offer a variety of previously-owned instruments for students at various playing levels. While these instruments may not appear brand new, they have all been adjusted and refurbished in our workshop to ensure that they function just as well as new instruments. |
